Two worlds come together when Sam (40), a professional people smuggler, reluctantly rescues Amal, a 12-year-old girl whose entire family has gone missing in the Syrian war.

Amal believes they are on their way to Sweden, so she sets out on a journey to find them. Sam hesitates, but worries at the thought of leaving the girl alone in a no-man’s land and is swept away.
