The Movies that Matter Festival 2023 will take place from Friday 24 March to Saturday 1 April 2023 at Filmhuis Den Haag and Theater aan het Spui. A festival programme will also be presented at various satellite locations across the country.
Online ticket sales start on Thursday 9 March. From Friday 24 March, you can also buy tickets at the festival box office in The Hague.
The full film programme will be announced at the start of ticket sales on Thursday 9 March. Some Q&As and talks may still be added to the programme in the following week.
Almost all Movies that Matter movies are screened either with English or Dutch subtitles. The individual film pages state the spoken language(s) of the film and whether/which subtitles are available.
The available subtitles are also indicated in our programme overview and you can filter on this in the ‘Screenings & Events’ tab.
Our volunteers are indispensable to the organisation of the Movies that Matter Festival. This year we are again looking for people to help us before, during and after the festival. Find our more about volunteering at the MtMF23 here and sign up.
You could submit your film for the Movies that Matter Festival 2023 until 21 November 2022. From 1 June 2023, the entries for the Movies that Matter Festival 2024 will open.
