Clémence Collombet is the mayor of a town in ‘Greater Paris’. She is serving the final months of her political career, having promised at the outset to serve only two terms as mayor. But while Clémence is looking forward to disappearing into anonymity again, she is approached to become Minister. Although hesitant at first, the offer lights up an ambition that gets increasingly ruthless.

When Clémence and her faithful chief of staff Yazid take up arms against an anonymous slumlord who exploits migrants, the lines dividing truth and lies become blurred. As the tensions mount between her and Yazid, the question arises: is there a difference between a broken promise and a lie?
