Members of the Myanmar Film Collective and producer Corinne van Egeraat are present at the Movies that Matter Festival for the Dutch premiere of their film Myanmar Diaries, a hybrid collective film about life in the aftermath of the February 2021 military coup in Myanmar. The film contains short films by ten young anonymous filmmakers, combined with footage by brave citizen journalists filming on the Myanmar streets. In this panel we speak with the Myanmar Film Collective about their experiences as filmmakers in Myanmar.
Myanmar Diaries has won the Berlinale Documentary Award, Berlinale Amnesty International Award, Berlinale Panorama Audience Award – 3rd Prize, HRWFF London Tony Elliott Impact Award and the One World Prague Award for Best Director in International Competition.
Moderator: Petr Lom, filmmaker
