After this impressive film, Tonya Sudiono (Waag) will speak with activist Tranae Moran and Senior advisor technology and human rights Merel Koning (Amnesty Netherlands). Tranae is seen in the film as an activist and tenant of a residential complex in New York where the use of facial recognition was implemented unannounced. Tenants were obliged to use this technology to enter their own home. Tranae shares her experiences and what the far-reaching implications are of the use of these technologies on daily lives. Merel Koning will dive deeper into digital discrimination through the use of algorithms and how more transparency, regulation and legal protection can be reached.
