Best of #MtMF24: introduction by Oliwia Hurley

We kick-off the day with a screening of Green Border, introduced by Oliwia Hurley.

Oliwia Hurley lives in a small village a few kilometers from the Polish-Belarusian border. During the humanitarian crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border in September 2021, Oliwia decided to volunteer to provide basic humanitarian aid to people trying to survive in the Białowieża jungle. In the following year, an umbrella organization Grupa Granica and a few small NGOs were created from these civilian volunteer movements to professionalize the efforts of the volunteers. Oliwia has been part of the Egala Association since January 2023 and has been a member of the board since September 2023. She takes care of logistics and supplies for all NGOs on the Polish-Belarusian border.

Best of #MtMF24
Watch three festival favourites plus in-depth programmes at the Best of #MtMF24 day on Saturday 30 March. We kick off the day with Green Border, a poignant drama about the horrors refugees face in the forests between Belarus and Poland. This will be followed by Samuel and the Light, a poetic and understated portrait of contemporary Brazil under the currents of capital and globalization. As the third film, we will screen the winner of the audience award, made possible by ASN Bank.

A ticket for the Best of #MtMF24 day costs €30 for all three films. You can also choose to buy individual tickets per film at a regular rate.
