The Camera Justitia night on Thursday 30 March will focus on law and justice.
The evening will be opened by Lilian Gonçalves-Ho Kang You after which international law expert Marie-Hélène Proulx will give a keynote.
We will screen the docmentary Theatre of Violence by Lukasz Konopa and Emil Langballe. Sharp, flamboyant lawyer Krispus Ayena leads us along a fascinating, complex quest for the essence of justice. Before the International Criminal Court, he defends Dominic Ongwen, former commander in Joseph Kony’s Ugandan ‘Lord’s Resistance Army’. But Ongwen was himself abducted and brainwashed by that same army when he was only 9 years old and so the question arises: is he a perpetrator or a victim after all?
After the screening, moderator Leila Prnjavorac will have a conversation with director Lukasz Konopa and producer Helle Faber.
