See three festival favourites plus in-depth programmes at the Best of #MtMF23 day on Saturday 1 April.
We kick off the day with Little Richard: I Am Everything. This will be followed by The Kings of the World. As the third film, we will screen the winner of the audience award, made possible by ASN Bank. A ticket for the Best of #MtMF23 day costs €30 for all three films. You can also choose to buy individual tickets per film at a regular rate via the links per film below.
Lisa Cortés’s dazzling documentary Little Richard: I Am Everything explodes the whitewashed canon of American pop music, shedding an illuminating light on the Black, queer origins of rock ‘n’ roll and establishing the genre’s big bang: Richard Wayne Penniman.
Five boys from the streets of Medellín go on a wild road trip. Are they claiming their rights or just chasing a pipe-dream? Alternately raw and poetic, with electrifying performances from the non-professional actors. Featuring the breath-taking highlands of Colombia as the mesmerizing backdrop.
During the festival, visitors indicate how they rate the film via voting cards after a film screening. The final score will determine which filmmaker receives the Movies that Matter Audience Award. Voting is possible until 31 March and your vote is anonymous. During the Best of #MtMF23 day on Saturday 1 April, we will announce which film is the big audience favourite and thus which filmmaker receives the Audience Award!
