Internship Vacancy Industry Programme
Movies that Matter wants to broaden views for human rights. We offer a stage to feature films and documentaries about human rights and a just and sustainable society. Films that amaze and inspire. We show these films at the annual Movies that Matter Festival in The Hague, throughout the year in movie theaters around the country, through film festivals in countries where press freedom is at stake, and at secondary schools and vocational schools throughout the Netherlands.
The Movies that Matter Festival 2025 will take place from 21 – 29 March in The Hague. The industry days take place between 22 – 25 March. The industry programme focuses mainly on creating impact with film and consists of closed trainings, masterclasses, pitches and one-on-one meetings. We work with filmmakers, (impact) producers, NGO’s, sales, and representatives of other festivals and organisations.
As of 1 January, we are looking for an intern in our industry programme for 16 or 24 hours a week.

Job description
For the upcoming festival we are looking for an intern to support the industry coordinator. Together they will organise a stimulating and surprising industry programme with national and international guests. The job consists of a lot of production work, as well as programming work.
Before the festival:
- Support industry coordinator for the film and impact programme, including selection, coordination, instruction and guidance of projects that are part of the impact programme;
- Identify and reach out to NGO’s, organisations and individuals for the film and impact meetings;
- Support the Industry Coordinator in shaping and coordinating the Impact morning;
- Collect and insert all industry content on our database and coworking platform;
- Assist with other administrative and organisational tasks on behalf of Movies that Matter when required.
At the festival:
- Supervise Film and Impact training and related activities during festival;
- Supervise activities related to the impact morning;
- Support all-round production of the industry sessions.
Job requirements
- You are pro-active and not afraid to pick up the phone
- Affinity with the medium of film and the theme of human rights
- Flexible, accurate, independent and stress-resistant
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)

Time and period
The internship involves an average of 16 hours to 24 hours per week – depending on the availability of the applicant – in the period from January 1 to April 14, 2025. During the industry days (March 22 to 25) you are available full time. Working days in consultation.
