Film at the cinema
Movies that Matter presents accessible films about social issues to students across the Netherlands, accompanied by an inspiring programme before and after the film and free educational materials. We highlight topics such as identity, freedom of choice, discrimination and migration.
Want to take your class or school to a film at the cinema? We organise film screenings for secondary education, ISK and vocational education (MBO) throughout the school year. We work with cinemas and film theatres across the Netherlands.
Conditions
- From 75 (paying) students onwards, we organise a film screening with an accompanying programme*
- The request must be submitted at least four weeks before the cinema visit.
- Changes to the number of students must be communicated at least 21 days before the scheduled date.
- The price is subject to approval by the cinema.

*Are you an ISK or practical education school and do you work with small classes? Then we would be happy to discuss whether a cinema screening is still possible. Please contact us.
Costs
- The cost is €8.50 per student for a film with an accompanying programme.
- Movies that Matter accepts the CJP Culture Card for secondary schools and vocational education (MBO). If you pay using the CJP budget, we charge a 5% administration fee including VAT, bringing the total cost to €8.90 per student.
- For payments by invoice, an administration fee of €15 including VAT is charged per invoice.
Participating cinemas
We work with numerous film theatres and cinemas across the Netherlands. Indicate your preferred location in the registration form and we will let you know whether this is possible.
