On Tour

Movies that Matter On Tour brings a selection of our impactful festival films to 16 theatres throughout the Netherlands. Every month, from October until May, an urgent film or documentary about human rights, freedom and justice – about struggle and hope.

Films that move, challenge, connect and inspire change. Always with context: our local volunteers provide an introduction or follow-up discussion with guest speakers at each screening. Because film can spark change. Because change starts the moment you watch – and keep watching.

On Tour is currently on its summer break. Starting in October, we’ll kick off a new season with a fresh selection of films. We look forward to welcoming you back!

October: Sentient

An investigation into laboratory research on animals exposes a hidden world in which it’s not just the animals getting hurt. The story of Dr. Lisa Jones Engel, a primatologist turned animal welfare advocate, asks whether harming animals and ourselves in science’s name is justified.

November: Molly Vs The Machines

Alone in her bedroom, Molly Russell ended her own life at 14. Now her grieving father confronts the Big Tech companies he holds responsible. He exposes a global system of hidden, unchecked power that reaches into our children’s bedrooms from the boardrooms of today’s most powerful companies.

December: Muganga

Urgent and powerful film inspired by the true story of Dr. Denis Mukwege, who treats survivors of wartime sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. When he meets Belgian surgeon Guy Cadière, they unite to help women piece themselves back together after being destroyed physically and psychologically.

January: 80 Angry Journalists

Thrilling account from inside Hungary’s most prominent independent online newspaper, Index.hu, while it’s slowly being placed under the control of Viktor Orbán’s autocracy. The pressure mounts until the full editorial staff of 80 journalists walk out. Will they succeed in building a new news outlet from scratch?
