Embassy Programme

Embassy Programme

To raise awareness and promote discussion on human rights, Movies that Matter organises a film project in cooperation with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. All Dutch embassies are given a menu of films about human rights for screenings on 10 December, International Human Rights Day.

Activist Film Menu

Activist Film Menu

Movies that Matter launched a film menu about human rights defenders, called the Activist Film Menu, giving a selection of film festivals in other countries the opportunity to screen the inspiring, high-quality productions of the Activist competition.

Activist Outreach Programme

Activist Outreach Programme

Movies that Matter supports the protagonists from the Activist documentaries during their stay at the festival with a networking and impact programme. We also offer them a stage at screenings and in the media. Even after returning from the festival, we continue to support the activists. With our Activist outreach and impact funding, we facilitate screenings in their home countries and create more awareness for the film and the activists’ work.

Human Rights Film Network

Human Rights Film Network

Movies that Matter coordinates the Human Rights Film Network (HRFN), a partnership of more than 50 independent festivals.
