Brainwash Festival: Home Game at Melkweg Cinema
During the Brainwash Festival, we will be screening the documentary Home Game at the Melkweg Cinema.
In Home Game, Lidija Zelovic portrays her displaced family since their flight from Sarajevo in 1993. With scenes from everyday life, political discussions, football and family holidays, she exposes the duality of what “home” means to migrants. At the same time, the film reflects social and political developments in the Netherlands and beyond. Sometimes funny, often confrontational and always sincere.
Afterwards, there will be time for questions for Lidija herself. Lidija is a documentary filmmaker and studied at the Netherlands Film and Television Academy. She has previously made documentaries such as My Friends and My Birthday. Her work interweaves intimate family images with broader social and political developments, and is internationally acclaimed for the personal and sharp perspective with which she depicts themes such as migration, identity and polarisation.
