Le Paradis

An engaging film about two boys in detention who believed their lives were at a standstill, only to discover that love and passion can also offer a form of freedom.

Seventeen-year-old Joe is on the verge of being released from a juvenile detention center. Once the judge approves his release, he will be able to live independently, something he deeply longs for. However, his impending freedom is complicated by the arrival of a new inmate, William, with whom Joe forms a close bond.

Le paradis marks the feature film debut of Zeno Graton, who subtly portrays the constraints of incarceration: the young men yearn not only for physical freedom but also for expressive and creative freedom.
