Rue des Invalides

2012, 23 minutes

Nathan is in a wheelchair. He is not too happy about it, but life goes on. When he is in a taxi on his way home, he has a conversation with the rather extravagant Eastern-European taxi driver (played by Dutch TV/Radio-Presantator Martin Simek). The driver notices Nathan has seen too little of the world.

Nathen seems interested in Paris, and cheered on by the taxidriver he decides to go chase his romantic dreams in the city of love.

Once in Paris disappointment awaits him. Metro’s are inaccessible, elevators scarce, sidewalks high, people moody, and the stairs, the never-ending stairs… Nathan decides to forget about all this misery by visiting a archetypical performance of a Parisian singer. It seems like his dream is coming true, until her English boyfriend enters the picture….

It is the beginning of a journey on which Nathan learns to not only use his handicap wisely, but also that he the one responsible for the realisation of his dreams.
