Roots & Soil is a poignant exhibition born from a long-term collaboration between by photographer Ahmet Polat and students from Gaziantep, who share their experiences after the largest Turkish earthquake on 6 February 2023.
Photographer Ahmet Polat studies the aftershocks of the Gaziantep earthquake one year on with students and lecturers from Hasan Kalyoncu University. Syrian artist and student Hamzaeh Sharrack shares his unique perspective on his current hometown and looks back at the conflict just 60 km away in Syria.
The exhibition will open with an artist talk on Saturday 23 March. From 23 to 30 March, the exhibition is free to visit at The Grey Space in the Middle.
