Justice Frame Day
Together with the Asser Institute, Movies that Matter offers a full-day programme on film and global justice on Thursday 26 March, featuring a masterclass and film
Justice Frame Masterclass: Venezuela & International Law
The Justice Frame Masterclass highlights recent developments in Venezuela, including the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro, from both legal and human perspectives. With insights from international criminal law expert Marieke de Hoon and an exclusive preview of Notes from Caracas by Venezuelan filmmaker Tuki Jencquel, the masterclass offers an in-depth look at the role of international law and daily life in Venezuela, with room for reflection and discussion.
Justice Frame Night: Silenced
The documentary Silenced (Selina Miles) takes center stage during this year’s Justice Frame Night. After #MeToo broke the cultural silence on gendered violence, international human rights lawyer Jennifer Robinson fights against the weaponization of defamation laws to silence survivors.
After the screening, Jennifer Robinson will join virtually via Zoom for a Q&A session, during which she will, among other things, answer questions from the audience. The evening will be hosted by Amelia Hanibelsz, an internationally experienced documentary filmmaker and executive producer with more than twenty years of work in film and media production, in which she centers stories from underrepresented voices and social issues.
