The Dialogue Police

A small unit within the Swedish Police works with dialogue as their only weapon, providing a buffer zone between protesters and police officers on the streets. Following their work on the frontline of democracy is necessary and inspiring in a time when dialogue seems to be collapsing more and more. 

After the screening, we will explore the legal and social dimensions of the right to protest and police conduct. Led by presenter Elena Lindemans (BNNVARA), we will be joined by a legal expert and a speaker from the activist community to shed light on different perspectives. How do legislation and law enforcement relate to the right to demonstrate? And what role do activists play in defending and challenging this right? A conversation about power, law, and the boundaries of peaceful protest.

Blauwe ballen en andere verkrachtingsmythen

In a personally driven film essay, Sunny Bergman explores why sexual violence is a problem of epidemic proportions and how we can break it. With a mirrorhouse as a safe space where people can tell their stories, Bergman also explores her own experiences.

After the screening, we will engage in a conversation about the myths around masculinity, social expectations, and sexual health. Filmmaker and journalist Sunny Bergman will join the discussion, alongside Javier Koole, researcher and sociologist at Rutgers, who specializes in sexual education and gender norms. Together, they will explore the film’s themes and examine how they relate to today’s society.
