Talk with Polina Milushkova and Pjotr Sauer

The second film of De Groene-day is Antidote. After the screening, there will be a talk with Polina Milushkova, journalist and tv presenter for Dozhd (TV Rain), and Pjotr Sauer, journalist and Russia affairs reporter for, amongst others, the Guardian. Moderation by Casper Thomas.

Polina Milushkova is a journalist and television presenter for Dozhd (TV Rain). She was born and raised in Russia, where she began her career in the media. However, after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, she decided to emigrate due to censorship and repressive laws. She is currently living in Amsterdam, where she hosts a morning news show and focuses on defending the rights of women and LGBTQ+ people.

Pjotr Sauer grew up in Moscow, where he started writing for The Moscow Times in 2018. He is currently a Russia affairs reporter for The Guardian. His work can also be found in The Telegraph and Het Parool. 

Casper Thomas is editor of De Groene Amsterdammer and author of several books, including De autoritaire verleiding and Amerika’s laatste kans. He was a correspondent for De Groene and Het Financieele Dagblad in India and the United States.
