Photoexposition ‘Silent Scream’ and aftertalk with Inge de Frank, Eva Verlinden and Dosha Sijens

Fatima Bouddokar is the moderator and will talk to Inge de Frank the researcher for the film. Also joining the follow-up discussion will be Eva Verlinden from the sexual violence centre and Dosha Sijens from Victim Support Netherlands.

There will also be a small photo exhibition of Henriëtte van Gasteren’s work in the foyer of the cinema.
Her photo project ‘Silent Scream’ stems from a personal motive. Prejudices like: ‘the girl with the short skirt who asked for it’ and ‘the man in the bushes’. Victim blaming can reinforce guilt and shame. It can make a person feel doubly victimised. Sexual abuse can happen to anyone and it can happen anywhere. An extra reason – if possible – to return with people to the place of abuse to photograph them there.
