Q&A with political cartoon artist Tjeerd Royaards

The last screening of the only animated feature film in this year’s programme will be followed by the Q&A session with the political cartoon artist Tjeerd Royaards.

Tjeerd Royaards is an award-winning Dutch editorial cartoonist who works for Dutch newspaper Trouw and also publishes in international media including Le Monde and (until Jeff Bezos decided to take over the newsroom) the Washington Post. Tjeerd is also editor-in-chief of Cartoon Movement, a global platform for editorial cartoons and comics journalism.

The Q&A will explore the role of artistic practices (illustration and animation) in bringing awareness to the urgent political events.

The conversation is moderated by Özlem Bulgan.
