Q&A with the director Daan Veldhuizen and journalists from Jubi

After the last screening of The Promise, there wil be a Q&A with the film’s director Daan Veldhuizen and a group of journalists from Jubi.

Jubi is an independent media platform based in West Papua, committed to reporting on human rights, environmental issues, and the ongoing conflict under Indonesian rule. Founded in 2001, Jubi has become a crucial source of information in a region where press freedom is severely restricted. Their reporting, which sheds light on government repression and the struggle for West Papuan self-determination, has made them a frequent target of intimidation and cyberattacks. Despite these risks, Jubi continues to amplify local voices and provide independent, on-the-ground journalism.
