Seventeen-year-old Cleo and her little brother live with their grandmother ever since their parents died in an accident. Cleo finds comfort playing the piano and hanging out with older, mysterious Leos. Director Eva Cools’ debut movie is a poetic, subdued statement that touches both the heart and the head.
When Cleo meets Leos on a night out, she feels he understands her without her having to explain anything. Gradually, Cleo bounces back from her misfortune. As their relationship develops, however, Leos feels increasingly guilty about being afraid to let Cleo in on a secret that he carries.
Among the astonishing cast of actors, Anna Franziska Jäger, who plays the title role, reveals Cleo’s vulnerability, pretending to be strong and brave yet struggling to cope with the tragic death of her parents.
