A Life on Hold

Marc Silver, Nick Francis

In Tunesia, just a few kilometres from the Libyan border, lies the Chouca refugee camp.

Refugees from surrounding countries kill time within its confines by playing volleyball. Seventeen-year-old Omar does not join in; he was disabled during an attack in Libya. Also, he fled Mogadishu, seeking refuge from the violence. Now he waits in a refugee camp. Until he is transferred elsewhere, his life is on hold.
