My Mother's Daughter gives a unique insight into the modified relation between a mother and her daughter.

Yvonne Ridley is an ambitious British journalist working for The Sunday Express. In the aftermath of 9-11, she travels to Afghanistan, where she is kidnapped by the Taliban and subsequently converts to Islam. Her mother Joyce – a devote Christian – has difficulty accepting her daughter’s new religion. Meanwhile, Yvonne is struggling to find her place in western society.
