Offside (2010)

Two young illegal immigrants from Nigeria try their luck in Turkey. They hope to find fame and fortune as international star players on the football pitch.

Dreaming of a career in football, Taju earns his living in a hair salon. The salon is located in a part of Istanbul which is largely populated by illegal immigrants from every corner of the globe. Unlike Taju, Rachid understands how difficult it will be to launch a football career in Istanbul, so he sets his sights on Europe. Together with his English girlfriend Diane, who he met on the internet, he dreams up plans for the future. The football ideals so cherished by Taju and Rachid come under pressure when their Nigerian teammate Okute dies in a police station.
