Parasite

Bong Joon-Ho

Director Bong Joon-ho won the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival for the masterful way in which he plays with genres and with the viewers’ expectations. He uses his own unique style to depict class divisions in today’s South-Korean society. Audacious and spectacularly portrayed.

Unemployed Ki-taek and his family live a poor life in a small house. They become fascinated by the rich Park family and see opportunities to benefit from their wealth. Gradually, they try to get a foot in the door at the Parks, at the expense of a few white lies. However, an unexpected event throws a spanner in the works, forcing them to go to great lengths to sustain their new life.
