Seven-year-old Ceci lives with her mother in a ramshackle beach cabin in Argentina. Her home situation is different from that of her classmates, but she cannot tell them in confidence. While Ceci struggles to be a child, with the right to play and to be ‘just’ like everyone else, her anxious mother lives in constant fear that the regime will track them down. Oppressive movie about a girl that grows up during military dictatorship in Argentina at the end of the seventies.

Director Paula Markovitch based the poetic close-up story on experiences from her childhood. Ceci is only seven years old, but has to keep a heavy secret. The lives of her family members depend on her silence. While Ceci struggles to be a child, with the right to play and to be ‘just’ like everyone else, her anxious mother lives in constant fear that the regime will track them down. The long, silent footage of the Argentinian coast, the dark interior of the beach cabin and the troublesome communication between mother and daughter contributes to an oppressive and moving portrait of a child that grows up during one of the darkest episodes in Argentinian history.
