Internship: International Support
Movies that Matter uses film to stimulate dialogue about a just world, influence public opinion, and motivate people to engage with social issues and a sustainable society. We achieve this through the annual Movies that Matter Festival, educational screenings for university and school students, and by organizing year-round events and screenings throughout the Netherlands. In countries where human rights and press freedom are under pressure, we support film festivals and mobile film projects.
Starting September 1, we are looking for an intern for the International Support Programme (24 hours per week).
Through the International Support Programme, we promote the screening of films about human rights in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. We do this through grants, advice, workshops, and network development. Internationally, we encourage film screenings and debates through, among other things, a film menu surrounding International Human Rights Day for Dutch embassies worldwide. In addition, we are co-founder of the Human Rights Film Network, a global network of more than 50 human rights film festivals.

- Assisting with the implementation of the film menu for Dutch embassies for screenings around International Human Rights Day on December 10: maintaining contact with rights holders and interested embassies, tracking applications;
- Assisting with the organisation of Human Rights Film Network activities during IDFA;
- Contributing to the Activist Lens programme at the Movies that Matter Festival: creating impact and networking programmes, maintaining schedules for activists and directors, production-related tasks;
- Contributing to the external communication of the International Support Programme (writing texts for the website, social media, and newsletter);
- Other administrative and organizational tasks supporting the activities of Movies that Matter.

- At least a higher professional education (HBO) level of thinking and working (preferably with an academic background focused on international studies);
- Accurate and able to work independently;
