Cinema without Borders: Southeast Asia

The 100% Manusia Film Festival and Movies that Matter are launching a new edition of Cinema without Borders. This edition focuses on the Southeast Asian region (Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam).

During the 10th edition of the 100% Manusia Film Festival (6–16 August 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia), we will bring together between 10 and 15 human rights film festival organisers from Southeast Asia for a 5-day workshop and networking programme on organising human rights film festivals. Participants will gain practical knowledge, new ideas and opportunities to strengthen their networks. By exchanging experiences and practical examples, participants will be inspired and supported to further develop their own festivals. The interactive workshops will cover various aspects of organising a human rights film festival, such as film programming and organising debates, fundraising, impact strategies, promotion and reaching new audiences.

This edition is made possible by the UMI Fund and organised in cooperation with the 100% Manusia Film Festival.
