Crash

2004, 113 minutes

Mosaic narrative about a group of people from various origins in the streets of Los Angeles and how their lives intertwine. The central theme is a murder case, and the detective in charge of the investigation.

Director Paul Haggis incorporated a personal experience – he was once robbed at gunpoint – into the screenplay for this film, in which a number of Los Angeles residents from all layers of society come into contact with each other. A successful black director, a racist cop, a lawyer, a pampered princess and a hardworking Spanish locksmith literally and figuratively clash. This drama provides a provocative look at discrimination and challenges the viewers to reflect on their own prejudice.
