Peruvian-Dutch filmmaker Heddy Honigmann is one of the most well-known filmmakers in the Netherlands. She has no less than forty productions to her name, most of which are documentaries. Honigmann became famous in the Netherlands and abroad for her humane works, her ability to reach out to those she turns the camera on, and for her compositions.
The main characters in her film En Op ‘n Goede Dag are played by Emmy Award winner Maryam Hassouni, Johanna ter Steege and Nasrdin Dchar, who received the Golden Calf at the Netherlands Film Festival 2011 and whose speech of gratitude instantly made him a celebrity. En Op ‘n Goede Dag consists of a documentary and a fiction part. The scenario for the latter was written by Honigmann’s son, Stefan van de Staak. En Op ’n Goede Dag is a humorous, 30-minute film about loyalty. Honigmann made the film at the invitation of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, that published a DVD box containing six of her films.
