He Named Me Malala

2015, 87 minutes

He Named Me Malala is a personal portrait of Malala Yousafzai, who was injured when the Taliban fired on her and her friends while on a school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley.

The then 15-year-old teenager, who was targeted for raising her voice about schooling for girls in Pakistan’s Swat Valley, was shot in the head. This caused a lot of commotion worldwide.

Since then, in addition to being an education activist in Pakistan, she has also been a campaigner for children’s rights worldwide. She is also, since December 2014, the youngest Nobel laureate ever.
