Sensitive young baker Omar is used to dodging bullets. For Nadia, the love of his life, he defies many dangers and climbs the separation wall in the West Bank. When his friends plan an act of resistance against the Israeli army, the situation gets out of hand and Omar is arrested. He finds himself playing a cat and mouse game with the military police and it soon becomes clear that his release will come at a high price. Will Omar be able to stay faithful to his friends, the love of his life and his convictions?
Omar, the first film to be fully funded by the Palestinian film industry, is directed by Dutch-Palestinian Hany Abu-Assad, who previously signed for multiple award-winning movie Paradise Now and won the Jury Prize for Omar at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
