Shorts Special: Koplopers x Lily &
2026, 30 minutes
During the Shorts Special for International Transition Classes (ISK) and practical education, students watch two short films exploring themes such as empathy, courage, and pursuing your dreams despite setbacks. They also respond to agree/disagree statements to encourage discussion about the themes raised in the films.
About the films
Koplopers x Lily (16 minutes)
Lily Yohannes (17) plays for Ajax. What is life like when you’re one of the most well-known young footballers in the Netherlands while also being an ordinary teenager? We follow Lily as she prepares for an important match. As one of the youngest players ever to compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, she has also been named Ajax’s Talent of the Year. With remarkable discipline, she follows a demanding schedule of training, school, and rest.
The second film in this programme will be announced at a later date.
Language support (for ISK)
To support students in learning Dutch, both films are spoken in Dutch and include Dutch subtitles. The programme is presented in Dutch, with the language adapted to the students’ proficiency level. The discussion questions and agree/disagree statements are also written in clear, accessible Dutch.
Lesson plan & educational materials
This film programme includes a preparatory lesson for students before their cinema visit. Separate teaching materials are available for practical education and ISK classes. The materials feature questions and activities centred on empathy, dreams, and being yourself.
