Bloodline

Wojciech Węglarz

Shorts Competition

In Europe’s oldest forest, a massive fence marks the border between Poland and Belarus, built to block refugees from entering the EU. But what unseen consequences does it have?

Bloodline takes a unique perspective, shifting focus from humans to a lone bison stranded on one side of the fence, separated from its herd. As it watches a deer fall prey to wolves, the indifference of borders and human intervention becomes painfully clear. With a quiet yet powerful approach, filmmaker Wojciech Węglarz invites viewers to reflect on the unseen victims of political decisions.
