Book lovers, take note! Discover new stories during the Movies that Matter Book Swap and give your bookshelves a fresh start. Bring 1 to 10 books and swap them in a cozy, relaxed setting. During three time slots, you can find new favorites in our Swap Area (from fantasy and sci-fi to thriller, romance, and literary fiction). Once you’ve booked your ticket for the Book Swap, you’ll receive a code that can be redeemed for a film ticket of your choice.
The swap is organized by @BookSwapCircle, which was founded to connect book lovers and encourage a circular way of exchanging books. This makes reading more accessible and creative.
This event is all about meeting others, sharing stories, and making new connections. Come for the books, swap your favourites, and stay for a special film of your choice.
At the Book Swap, you’re invited to leave a message for the book’s next reader. Share what the book meant to you – perhaps it opened your eyes to a new idea, inspired you, or supported you through a difficult time. Paper book sleeves will be available so you can write and attach your note.
Book Swap participants will also receive a limited edition bookmark!
How does it work?
- Bring a maximum of 10 books to the check-in table
- Receive 1 credit per book
- Choose new favorites in the Swap Area
- Pay for your books and credits
Which books can I bring to the event?
- Must be in good condition
- Fantasy, romance, sci-fi, thriller, or literary fiction (2015 or later; exceptions: Donna Tartt, Kristin Hannah, Margaret Atwood)
- Ask yourself: can I make someone happy with this book?
- For this edition NO cookbooks and travelbooks
- Written in Dutch or English
