In this unique filmmaking challenge, film students from Lyon (France) and Breda (Netherlands) team up to create compelling short films—all within just 84 hours. Featuring talented actors and actresses with disabilities from both countries, these films transcend creative boundaries, focusing on storytelling, creativity, and collaboration to bring a shared vision to life. Frames without Borders is a collaborative programme involving St. Joost School of Art & Design, Université Lumière Lyon 2, the Wild Lam Foundation, the Festival International du Film sur les Handicaps, and Movies that Matter.

This programma is combined with the shorts programme from Roots Filmfestival. You can combine the screenings by buying a ticket for Roots.

Day 42

Every day, Liv wakes up and follows her routine—until one day, something feels off. She discovers that her own actions are imitated a split second before she does them, as if they have already been written. Shocked, she tries to change course—but is that even possible? Are you the source of your actions, or are you merely following them?

My Little Clown
Directed by Dasha Pisemska

A girl who perceives the world through bright colours and doesn’t allow anything but happiness near her, tries to force her friend to see the world as she does. She tries to make him smile at all costs, but does he really want to be happy? Will she be able to fight his misery, or is it even misery at all?

In Good Faith
Directed by Valentine Haudecoeur

A weary priest accepts a boy into his confession booth, who starts telling him about his nightmares. The priest soon realizes that maybe he is the one who should be making a confession.

Every day, she says the same ‘hello’ to the stranger trapped in the field behind the barbed wire. As absurd as it seems, what if today they truly spoke to each other?
