Industry: Take on Displaced Filmmakers – NEFTi Competition Launch

Movies that Matter is proud to announce the 2026 NEFTi Competition, dedicated to displaced filmmakers based in Europe and Africa. The competition aims to honor and amplify the voices of outstanding filmmakers now living in the European diaspora and across the African continent.

The announcement is followed by a panel talk with Paul Robinson (Founder NEFTi), Marco Orsini (CEO EIFTF), Dawood Hilmandi (Afghan filmmaker, based in The Netherlands) and Ivanna Laka (Ukrainian filmmaker/editor, based in The Netherlands).

After the panel, there will be drinks at Filmhuis Studio A, hosted by NEFTi’s founder Paul Robinson.
