Industry: Take on New Beginnings

Movies that Matter presents an inspiring evening in collaboration with The AMIR Project and the Buddy Film Foundation, two organisations that use film to empower and support refugees.

The AMIR Project provides a platform for young newcomers to develop their storytelling skills and share their perspectives through film. The Buddy Film Foundation connects refugee filmmakers with the film industry, helping them continue their careers and tell stories that matter.

For this special event, the AMIR Project and Buddy Film Foundation join forces to present five compelling films—two by the AMIR Project and three by Buddy Film Foundation—each followed by an engaging conversation with the filmmakers and those involved in the production. These discussions offer a unique opportunity to explore the power of film in storytelling and social change. This event will be moderated by Bahram Sadeghi.

The films:

  • Homeland 2.0
  • Your Love or your Life
  • Diana
  • The Miracle of Life (Avant Premiere)
  • Lost Brides

Please note: earlier in the day, the AMIR Project and Buddy Film Foundation will attend a private masterclass hosted by Douglas Herman from ReFOCUS Media Labs (invitation only).
