Day of De Groene
De Groene Amsterdammer will present a special programme this year around two films: From Ground Zero and Antidote. Visit these two films with after programme together for just €22.
From Ground Zero
Amid ongoing occupation and siege, and in the midst of a devastating war, twenty-two artists from Gaza present a mosaic of personal stories. From Ground Zero is a powerful cinematic response to the brutal reality of airstrikes, starvation, and destruction. Supported by the Mashawari Fund for films and filmmakers in Gaza, the film offers a counter-narrative to the dominant imagery of violence and statistics. The film will be followed by an after talk discussion with Thomas van Gool (PAX) and Anisa Boonman.
Antidote
Riveting documentary about three people risking everything in their resistance to Vladimir Putin’s regime. Central figure is investigative journalist Christo Grozev, who exposes Putin’s murder machine and is forced to go on the run. A tribute to the heroism of people fighting a tyrannical regime that will stop at nothing. After the screening, there will be a talk with Polina Milushkova, journalist and tv presenter for Dozhd (TV Rain), and Pjotr Sauer, journalist and Russia affairs reporter for, amongst others, the Guardian.
