European Commission: Facing War

On Monday 24 March, we present a free screening of Facing War, in partnership with the European Commission’s representation in The Hague. Afterwards, there will be a discussion on the future of European defence with director Tommy Gulliksen and Paul Kruis, policy officer at the Directorate General for the Defence Industry and Space.

The film closely follows former NATO president Jens Stoltenberg in the last year of his term. He balances between the demands of world leaders such as Joe Biden, Volodymyr Zelensky, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Viktor Orbán. As Western support for Ukraine crumbles, he must bring NATO members together and prevent the alliance from disintegrating under political pressure.
