On Saturday 21 March, newspaper Trouw presents two programmes centered on films selected by Trouw editor Remke de Lange: Derek vs Derek (James Dawson) and Silenced (Selina Miles). After the screenings, Remke will host a conversation about the films with guest speakers. See both films for just €22.

In the idyllic English countryside lives an intensive dairy farmer called Derek. One day his neighbour, also called Derek, forsakes farming tradition and starts turning his land over to wild nature. How does the community react when one of its own turns his back on their way of life? In the after talk director James Dawson and rewilding–expert Marc Wilbers.

Silenced

After #MeToo broke the cultural silence on gendered violence, survivors swiftly found themselves facing a new kind of silencing and fear as defamation laws became weaponized against women for speaking out. Guest is Marloes van Noorloos, Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at University Leiden.
