The Dutch Focus Night opens with an introduction by Remke de Lange, followed by a keynote from writer and film essayist Basje Boer. Boer is the author of Liggend naakt – Een essay over verkleden and the essay collection Pose – Over hoe we kijken en wie we spelen, in which she dissects the gaze on the body, representation and identity. Her keynote sets the stage for an in-depth panel conversation on the female gaze with director Muriel d’Ansembourg, director of photography Myrthe Mosterman and intimacy coordinator Philine Janssens.
