The Attack

Ziad Doueiri

Blood-curdling thriller about Israeli-Palestinian surgeon Amin whose wife is killed in a bomb attack. When he discovers that she herself carried out the attack, Amin sets out on a dangerous quest for the truth.

Amin Jaafari is a respected Palestinian surgeon who works in a hospital in Tel Aviv. He never wanted to get involved in the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Until one day a bomb
explodes in downtown Tel Aviv. Amin treats the victims and returns home after an exhausting day… not to find his wife. In the middle of the night he gets called back to the hospital.
There he learns that his wife perpetrated the attack. Bewildered, Amin decides to find out what motivated his wife. He sets out on a dangerous journey to find those that recruited her. His quest urges him to face his own identity and way of thinking. The Attack is based on the novel L’ Attentat by Yasmina

Khadra and won the Dioraphte Film and Literature Prize at the 2013 Film By the Sea festival in Vlissingen. Lebanese director Ziad Doueiri worked with Quentin Tarantino on well-known feature films Jackie Brown, From Dusk Till Dawn, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.
