Lonely and uneducated, young Gary decides to take on a job at a nuclear power plant. Between the reactors he finds what he was looking for: money, a surrogate family and handsome Karole. However, she is already engaged to another man. Drama about the dangers of forbidden love and radiation, with strong acting performances.

After having tried several small jobs without much success, uneducated daredevil Gary (Tahar Rahim - Un Prophète) is hired by a large nuclear power plant. He joins a close-knit team of poorly paid employees who perform dangerous tasks. Together with his colleagues, who will become a substitute family to him, he lives on a camping site next to the power plant. He soon falls under the spell of handsome Karole (Léa Seydoux - La vie d’Adèle), the girlfriend of teammate Toni. Out of fear to be separated from Karole, Gary hides the fact that he has been exposed to the maximum level of radiation that is acceptable. The young man is gradually contaminated by both the perspective of an impossible love and radioactivity.
