Four intertwined stories of two families: one Israeli and the other Palestinian, caught in secrecy. Small lies escalate into a reckoning, exposing the fragile balance between tradition, ambition, and family duty. As one lie unravels another, the characters must face their greatest fear: the truth.
Fifi, a university student in Jerusalem embracing newfound independence, wakes up in a hospital surrounded by her Palestinian family. As her medical records expose personal details she had kept hidden, she must quickly decide how much of her true self she is willing to reveal. Meanwhile, back in Haifa, her brother Rami faces his own internal conflict as his Israeli girlfriend is pregnant and wants to keep the baby, and he doesn’t. This forces him to confront his illusions about the future.
In a society where personal freedom is often at odds with cultural expectations, Fifi and Rami’s struggles mirror those of their relatives, each wrestling with their own moral dilemmas. Directed by Oscar-nominated Scandar Copti, Happy Holidays intricately weaves these narratives, painting a poignant portrait of a family bound by love yet burdened by unspoken truths.
