When nursery teacher Lucas is falsely accused of sexual abuse by angelic toddler Klara, the entire village turns against him. Being convicted without trial, his life suddenly becomes a nightmare.

Lucas’ (Mads Mikkelsen) life is turned upside down after a divorce and loss of employment. When he gets a job at a local day nursery, the tide seems to turn. Besides, his son wants to move in with him and a tender romance with a colleague blooms. Then five-year-old Klara falsely accuses him of sexual abuse. Within a day, the entire village turns against Lucas and his world totally collapses. Only his son and stepfather still believe in his innocence. Danish director Thomas Vinterberg (Festen) is back with this oppressing and heart-rending drama, for which Mikkelsen received a Palme d’Or for Best Actor at the 2012 Cannes International Film Festival.
