The Second World War is over. The Dutch celebrate the liberation, but not Wies' family.
Wies lives together with her husband and two daughters and owns a small shop. Her daughter Nellie is pregnant of a German soldier. Now Wies has to choose: will she live the rest of her life in shame, or does she choose her child and grandchild?
