Although Shell claims that they are not responsible for the oil pollution in Nigeria, the short film Shell en de olieramp in Nigeria (made by VICE) proves the contrary. Milieudefensie and four farmers filed the lawsuit against Shell in Nigeria. The 13-year trial set an inconceivable legal precedent; a compensation to Nigerian farmers. The short film tells the story of this trial from the eyes of human rights lawyer Channa Samkalden.
